I call this section “The Store” to differentiate, and document, William Longmire’s work at Col Thomas Turner’s dry goods store from his work at court. It is important to establish the two sets of documents I am working from. Because Col Turner was a Justice and Clerk of the Court for most of William’s known life in King George County and also owner of the store where William worked this is an important area to focus on. However, as mentioned elsewhere in this blog, the interrelated nature of various court system payments and merchant accounts helps to establish my theory that William was in fact primary author of both sets of documents featured here.
